STATEMENT The twentieth century produced a world of conflicting visions. This is the world I was born and raised in: Paris in the late 1970’s.
Media images conditioned me throughout my childhood. Movies, TV shows, commercials and magazines have imposed rules on my generation. We’ve been influenced by the pessimistic vision of photojournalism, and the obsessive, perfect fashion aesthetic, both of which dictate style and representation. These images are still in my mind, printed in my subconscious.
It is time to transcend them. Overcoming the fear, expanding the comfort of my usual mind-frame, I decided to imagine a different vision…
